Paris is known for its trees with more than 484,000 specimens in public places. Even season is different and I revisit the remarkable trees I have come to know very well throughout the year. While plane trees are dominant you will also find the horse chestnuts lining the Seine, silver lindens, Norway maples and pear trees. The parks are spectacular in autumn and spring. My favourite tree is the Fagus sylvatica, copper beech. The best specimens are at Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulougne. The flowering cherries with their fleeting blossom in spring are worth a special visit.
